MASSIVE PHOTO DUMP PART 2!
We had another incredibly busy week. Many thanks to all those who showed up to offer their support and hear our positive message.
Sunday afternoon, we were at Vine & Bean Bistro for our 4th meet and greet. I especially enjoyed spending time with Dana Schrad, recently retired Executive Director of the VA Association of Chiefs of Police. Dana has been an incredible partner to law enforcement agencies across the Commonwealth, and I wish her well in her new role.
Monday evening, we were welcomed by the Kirby family at Creamfield Farm on Summer Hill Road in the heart of Studley for our 5th meet and greet. Many thanks to all those who showed up to hear our message and offer their support.
Immediately following the meet and greet, I hustled over to Enon Church to speak with the Studley Ruritan Club. Many thanks to Graham Kirby for the invitation and opportunity to address their members. I answered many questions about issues impacting law enforcement in Hanover today. Thanks to all those in attendance that offered their encouragement.
Tuesday morning, I was at Full Circle Deli on Lee Davis Road with Supervisor Ryan Hudson to discuss a few issues in the Mechanicsville District. While there, we had the opportunity to speak with many residents and citizens concerning traffic issues and crime trends throughout the county. If you haven’t been to Full Circle Deli, they are a hidden gem in Mechanicsville. Their staff was excellent and breakfast was delicious. We’ll definitely be back there for more events soon.
Tuesday evening, I had the opportunity to visit the Pride of Hanover Masonic Lodge on Berkley Street in Ashland for their National Night Out cookout. This event was rescheduled from early August because of weather. Many thanks to Worshipful Jay Hall and the brothers there for their hospitality.
After this event, I went back to the office to welcome the 37th edition of our Citizens Police Academy. It was great meeting with our citizens, introducing our command staff, and explaining our community priorities.
Wednesday morning, we held our annual SHIELD Conference at Hanover Tavern. This was a great opportunity to connect with local business leaders, discuss regional, national, and global crime trends, and explain how partnerships define what we do as a law enforcement organization.
I left the Tavern and headed to the FBI Richmond office for a briefing, then returned to the county for our 6th and final meet and greet at PebbleCreek Clubhouse.
What a turnout in PebbleCreek! We had almost 200 people in attendance! Special thanks to retired Sheriff Hines, Supervisors Sean Davis, Danielle Floyd, Ryan Hudson, Jeff Stoneman, Michael Herzberg, Sue Dibble, Commonwealth Attorney Mackenzie Babichenko, retired Commonwealth Attorney Trip Chalkley, Clerk of Court Frank Hargrove, Treasurer Tim Boschen, Commissioner of the Revenue Scott Harris, Senator Ryan McDougle, Delegate Buddy Fowler, and Delegate Scott Wyatt for their support the past two weeks.
Thursday evening, I addressed our quarterly Neighborhood and Business Watch groups at the Sheriff’s Office. After that, I was invited to attend the 2nd Annual Millie’s Home Gala at the Hanover Tavern. Sarah Dunford’s dream to help young mothers who need assistance is thriving! Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause at www.millieshome.com.
Friday morning, I was at the Early Voting Center to cast my ballot. I’m going to be honest, it was a little surreal seeing my name on the ballot. I’m incredibly proud of how we got here and all of my supporters who’ve helped our campaign.
Later that morning, we welcomed our Chaplains to Fairmount Church on Creighton Road for our quarterly meeting. It’s always great to connect with our county faith leaders and have discussions on how we serve our community. Thank you to Pastor Rick Raines and his staff for their hospitality.
Saturday morning, I was at the Chicken Swap at Gilmanor Farm where I had the opportunity to meet with attendees. I appreciated all the people who stopped by to offer their support and encouragement. We gave out a lot of signs today! I also met with Laura at Pie Safe Baking Company and finally tried the Julia Katz chocolate chip cookies! They were incredible! Thank you Laura for your support… it means a lot. I also tried the famous smashburger at Whitestone’s Food Truck. Give them a try the next time you see them!
We’ll be at Hanover Vegetable Farm in the morning for Berea Baptist Church’s Annual Family Picnic. See you all in the morning.
We have another full schedule this week!
