U.S. MARSHALS SEEK FUGITIVE WANTED IN BEAVERTON CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

The Beaverton Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a fugitive wanted in connection with a 2022 child sexual abuse investigation in Beaverton. The suspect is also wanted in multiple states on additional child sexual abuse-related charges.

Erick A. De Leon, also known as Alex Rosado Lopez, is wanted on an active felony arrest warrant stemming from a 2022 Beaverton Police Department investigation involving the alleged sexual abuse of a 12-year-old child. Following the investigation, De Leon was indicted in 2022 on the following charges:
Two counts of Attempted R**e in the First Degree
Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree

De Leon has remained wanted on the outstanding felony warrant.

In addition to the charges in Oregon, De Leon is wanted by authorities in Wisconsin in connection with child sexual abuse material offenses and in Georgia on additional child sexual abuse-related charges.

The U.S. Marshals Service is coordinating efforts to locate and apprehend De Leon and announced a reward in late September for information leading to his arrest.

The Beaverton Police Department is working to bring attention to this case and encourages anyone with information regarding De Leon’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement.

Anyone who sees De Leon should avoid approaching him and immediately contact law enforcement. Individuals with information regarding his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service or the Beaverton Police Department.

De Leon may be using multiple names, including Alex Rosado Lopez.

The Beaverton Police Department remains committed to protecting vulnerable members of our community and holding individuals accused of crimes against children accountable.

🚶‍♂️🚴‍♀️ WALK & ROLL TO SCHOOL DAY! 🚓🏫

Last week Beaverton Police Chief Stacy Jepson joined Mayor Lacey Beaty and the Beaverton School District at Sexton Mountain Elementary School to celebrate Walk & Roll to School Day!

It was a great morning connecting with students, families, and school staff while encouraging healthy habits, safe routes to school, and pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Events like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of working together to keep our students safe as they travel to and from school.

MISSING 3-YEAR-OLD JOSHUA OVALLES FOUND SAFE, REUNITED WITH FATHER

The Beaverton Police Department is pleased to announce that 3-year-old Joshua E. Ovalles, who was reported missing on October 7, 2026 and was the subject of an Amber Alert, has been located, is safe and has been reunited with his father.

Joshua was located safely in the City of Lake Oswego after his mother, Mari Martinez, dropped him off at the home of a trusted individual.

After dropping Joshua off, Martinez fled the area, prompting a coordinated search by law enforcement to locate her. Officers and detectives from the Beaverton Police Department, along with personnel from the Lake Oswego Police Department and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, participated in the search. A Lake Oswego Police Department detective ultimately located Martinez, who was taken into custody.

Joshua had been the subject of an ongoing search after Martinez took him following a Washington County judge’s decision to grant temporary custody to Joshua’s father. The court determined Joshua was in “immediate danger” while in his mother’s unsupervised custody.

Following his recovery, Joshua was reunited with his father. Photographs accompanying this release capture the emotional reunion between father and son.

The Beaverton Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Lake Oswego Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, and the many community members who shared information and helped bring attention to Joshua’s disappearance.

Most importantly, we are grateful that Joshua has been found safe and is back in his father’s arms.

Martinez is in Beaverton Police custody and is facing charges of Custodial Interference and Kidnapping.
