As Bridge Day gets closer, we’ve been thinking about just how special Fayette County is to us — because this isn’t simply a community we serve. It’s where our story began.
Jan-Care was founded in Fayette County in 1970, and for more than 55 years, we’ve had the privilege of being part of this amazing community.
It’s the patients we care for. The familiar faces. The local events. The everyday moments that don’t make headlines but matter just as much.
This is a community we serve every day, and we take pride in caring for it.
Since the very first Bridge Day, Jan-Care has been the primary EMS provider for the event. We’ve watched Bridge Day grow and change over the years, but one thing has remained the same — when thousands of people come to Fayette County to celebrate, we’re here to help take care of them.
As we get ready for another Bridge Day, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at some photos of our crews and units at Bridge Day through the years. There’s a lot of history in these photos, and they’re a pretty special reminder of how long we’ve been part of this community.
And while we’re looking back, we’re also getting ready for what’s ahead. Our preparations for Bridge Day 2026 began shortly after last year’s event.
When Bridge Day arrives, we’ll have a dedicated dispatch station, EMS coverage on both the top and bottom of the New River Gorge Bridge, along with a mobile hospital at the bottom, helping care for the estimated 100,000 spectators and 400+ BASE jumpers.
Until the big day, enjoy a little trip down memory lane with us. 🚑💨
