Budget Hearing Notice

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Bedford Village Fire District shall hold a public hearing to discuss the contents of its proposed budget for 2027. The public hearing will be conducted at the firehouse located at 550 Old Post Road, Bedford, New York, at 7:30 p.m. on October 20, 2026. A copy of the proposed budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Bedford and at the office of the Fire District Secretary where it may be inspected by any interested person. In addition, copies of the proposed budget for 2027 will be available on the fire district website and at the aforesaid public hearing. All interested persons are invited to attend.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION/AVISO DE ELECCIONES ANUAL

NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
BEDFORD VILLAGE FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Bedford Village Fire District will take place on December 8, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the firehouse located at 550 Old Post Road, Bedford, New York for the following purpose:

To elect one (1) Fire District Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing January 1, 2027 and ending December 31, 2031.

All residents of the Bedford Village Fire District, who are duly registered to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections on or before November 16, 2026 shall be entitled to vote at this election.

Any person desiring to have his or her name appear on the ballot for the above office must have filed a petition signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified electors of the Fire District, with the Secretary of the Fire District not later than November 18, 2026.

Elegir a un (1) comisionado del Distrito de Bomberos por un período de cinco (5) años que comenzará el 1 de enero de 2027 y finalizará el 31 de diciembre de 2031.

Position: Caretaker
Available: Fall 2026

Role: The Bedford Village Fire District Caretaker (the “Caretaker”) position will be a 20-hour per week, part-time position. It will entail a combination of operational and administrative functions for the maintenance and service of the Bedford Village Fire District’s Fire House (Fire House) and the District apparatus and equipment. The District Caretaker will function as the central coordinator between the Fire District Board of Commissioners, Fire Department, and external partners including vendors, and service providers. This position will report directly to the Bedford Village Fire Commissioners.
