🍂🔥 OHIO’S FALL BURN BAN IS HERE! 🔥🍂

Your leaf pile may look like a problem, but turning it into a neighborhood smoke signal isn’t the solution. 😂

📅 October 1–November 30
⏰ 6 a.m.–6 p.m.
📍 Unincorporated areas—outside city and village limits

Ohio’s seasonal law prohibits most open burning during these hours, including burning leaves, brush and yard debris. And no, putting it in a burn barrel doesn’t give it diplomatic immunity. 🛢️🚫

🌙 After 6 p.m. isn’t an automatic green light! Ohio EPA rules and local restrictions still apply. Check with your local fire department before lighting any outdoor fire.

🍃 Dry leaves + wind + one spark can turn “just cleaning up the yard” into “well, that escalated quickly.”

Choose composting, mulching or community yard-waste collection instead. Let’s keep fall’s flashing lights on the decorations—and off the fire trucks! 🚒🎃

🚨 NEW IN OHIO: THE JOSHUA ALERT 🚨

Ohio’s new Joshua Alert system is officially in effect.

The law creates a statewide emergency alert for missing children under age 18 who have autism or another developmental disability. Once law enforcement confirms that a qualifying child is missing, information can be shared quickly across the state—helping first responders and the public join the search during those critical first moments.

The alert is named in memory of Joshua McLemore, a young Ohio boy with autism who tragically died after wandering away from home.

If a child with autism or a developmental disability goes missing:

📞 Call 911 immediately—do not wait.
📸 Provide a current photograph.
👕 Describe the child’s clothing and identifying features.
📍 Share favorite locations, interests, communication needs and places the child may seek out.

Awareness saves time, and time saves lives. Please share and help spread the word about this important new safety tool.

Every year on September 11th at exactly 0846 hours, our dispatch centers pause all non-emergency radio traffic to broadcast a solemn message of remembrance to every police officer, firefighter, and paramedic serving our community.

At 8:46am 25 years ago today, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, changing our nation forever. In that instant, thousands of innocent lives were cut short, and hundreds of brave first responders ran directly toward danger without hesitation.

Behind the console, our telecommunicators are honored to be the crucial link between our citizens and the brave men and women on the front lines. On Patriot Day, we reaffirm our commitment to standing guard over our community, maintaining the shield of freedom, and upholding the values that define the American spirit: resilience, unity, and sacrifice.

Harry S. Truman said it best when he said: “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand."

May God bless our first responders, may God bless our communities, and may God bless the United States of America. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

CUYAHOGA, LAKE & GEAUGA COUNTIES 🌩️

This storm is bringing 80 mph winds, hail, and a possible tornadic activity — and it’s moving fast. Have a shelter ready. As a reminder, go to the lowest floor, an interior room, and stay away from windows.

Treat this warning as the real deal. Mother Nature is not accepting visitors today.
