๐๐โโฌNO TRICKS, JUST TREATSโฆAND FEWER KITTENS! ๐โโฌ๐
๐For years, the City has supported a CATch๐& Release program to help reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens by:
๐งกHosting at least two FREE spay/neuter clinics each year, giving an opportunity to have feral cats sterilized.
๐งกAllocating $5,000 annually in the Animal Control budget specifically for feral cat spay and neuter services.
๐งกAuthorizing additional spay and neuter expenses outside the scheduled clinics when needed to address problematic areas and growing colonies.
๐This year we have already sterilized over 200 cats and according to published research that could prevent approximately 400 kitten births in a single breeding season. Continued Catch & Release efforts can help reduce community cat populations over time, preventing unwanted litters.
That's 400 fewer little lives facing the challenges of surviving outdoors without homes๐ฅน
๐งกWhen cats are brought in for sterilization they are also vaccinated against Rabies & FVRCP to help prevent the spread of disease for the public health and safety of our citizens and their pets๐
This Halloween, let's remember that the best treat we can give community cats is a healthier future! ๐งก๐โโฌ
Catch & Release works when we work together. Thank you to everyone who helps trap, transport, and release our community cats๐๐โโฌ
