π Tropical Depression Two β Update as of 1 PM CDT
The City of Beeville is monitoring Tropical Depression Two, currently located about 700 miles ENE of Port Aransas with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, moving NW at just 3 mph.
What we know:
π The system is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm as it nears Louisiana, then weaken back to a depression before approaching the Texas coast.
π Arrival of any tropical storm-force winds near Matagorda Bay has shifted to Thursday night/Friday morning.
π Wind shear will keep most rain and storm activity displaced south of the center.
South Texas / Coastal Impacts:
π Regardless of the exact track, increasing easterly swell is expected along the Middle Texas Coast late this week.
π Expect rougher surf, a heightened risk of rip currents, and increasing potential for minor coastal flooding.
What you can do:
β
If you have coastal or beach plans this week, use extra caution β rip currents can be dangerous even under sunny skies.
