Calling all parade marchers!
The 167th Belchertown Fair is less than a month away, September 25th-27th, and this year is also the 50th anniversary of the Friends of Clapp Memorial Library!
Come celebrate by marching with us in the Fair parade, Saturday morning, September 26th. This year we won't be having a float, but we are still marching and would love a big group of marchers to celebrate our 50th year and our amazing library!
Denise Smith is allowing us to assemble at her address, as in previous years, 32 South Main St. This is the large victorian home just south of the library. You can park in the field in the back of the house and park there for free the entire day if you wish, while you enjoy the parade and the Fair.
The parade starts at 10am, but the road closes at 9am, so you should plan on arriving by 8:45am. Light refreshments will be available before the parade begins.
You can just come as you are, or dress up based on the Fair theme; Stars, Stripes and Fair Nights, aligning with the 250th year of our nation. More information at https://www.btownfair.com/.
There will be signs for the marchers to hold, and you can also make and bring your own. Some ideas for signs: Friends 50th, Love your Library, Clap for Clapp, Book Sales in 2027 etc.
If you plan to join us, it would be helpful to respond to our Friends email so we have an idea of how many will be marching. [email protected]
Thank you so much, and hope to see you on parade day!
