It takes a certain kind of person to be a Webb Library Fellow. 📚

Initiative. Curiosity. Leadership in action.

Meet some of the students who step up, take ownership, and serve our community through the quiet work that makes a library come alive.

Different strengths. Shared purpose. 💙

And we’re not finished yet. Stay tuned to meet more of our Library Fellows!

WE WENT LOOKING FOR PRIMARY SOURCES.
WE FOUND ANCIENT ARTIFACTS. 🔎

While working with our World History students on primary source analysis, an unexpected discovery led us somewhere much older than the current school year.

Two crates of artifacts, delivered to the Archives when the library began building its archives in 2012, resurfaced during our work with students.

What started as a lesson about examining primary sources became an opportunity to investigate, document, question, and preserve pieces of the past.

And that’s one of the things we love about working in a library and archives:

You never quite know what you’re going to find.

Sometimes the best research experiences aren’t planned.

They’re discovered.

A big thank-you to history professors Heindel, Kunz, Rundall, and Gillette for bringing their students into the library and making research part of the learning.

The library isn’t just where students find books.

It’s where they learn how to find, evaluate, question, and use information.

What can The Sneetches teach us about being an upstander?

More than we might expect. ⭐️

Dr. Seuss’s story gives us a simple way to think about student agency, kindness, and taking the right action.

Notice when something isn’t right.
Choose how you will respond.
Take action.

You don’t have to be the person who caused the problem to be part of the solution.

A bystander sees what is happening.
An upstander decides what to do next.

And sometimes the most important choice we can make is simply to be kind, include someone, speak up, or refuse to participate in something that hurts another person.

We all have agency. We all have choices. And our choices matter. ⭐️

📚 WORD OF THE WEEK | BOND WITH BOOKS

cacophony
noun | ka-KAH-fuh-nee
A harsh or jarring sound; an incongruous or chaotic mixture.

Now find it in a book. 📖

In If I Stay by Gayle Forman, music, relationships, and loss collide in a story where harmony and cacophony can exist side by side.

What word will you find in your next book?

Gayle Forman

💡 A student idea brought to life!

Student Library Fellow Eleanor L. came up with a simple, brilliant idea: a page-turning book in the library — one book left open for everyone to discover, with a new page turned every week or so.

The goal? To create a little moment of curiosity and connection for anyone passing through the library. 📖✨

And what better book to start with than Alice in Wonderland? 🐇🎩🫖

Stop by, read a page (or two!), and see where the story takes you. And stay tuned — there’s always another page to turn.
