In the second half of their match against Clearfield, the Bellefonte boys soccer team had its offense primed and ready as the Red Raiders scored all their goals in the second half en route to the 5-2 victory.
“We got off to a slow start tonight. Just we’re not moving very well, and we looked like we were in a slow motion movie,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “Clearfield came out aggressive in the 2nd half and scored 2 on us. I have talked to the guys this year about our character as a team and what we do when we get smacked around. They responded tonight by pounding in five goals in the 2nd half. We had a lot of shots on goal that Clearfield GK did a great job of denying. Proud of the way this team responded tonight.”
Bellefonte out shot Clearfield 24-9.
Clearfield took the lead early in the second half when the Bison scored at 42:39 on a Owen Gill goal.
Clearfield was at it again at 49:15 when Tucker Scott got the nod, giving the Bison a 2-0 advantage.
Back cam the Red Raiders scoring five unanswered goals.
Bellefonte cut the Clearfield lead in half at 58:13 on a Keegan Timblin goal thanks to an assist by Seth Caton.
Minutes later, Bellefonte was at it again tying the game at 63:13 on a Cole Stabinger goal.
At 67:49, Timblin scored once again on a pass from Stabinger.
Timblin collected a hat trick for Bellefonte at 69:35 giving his team a little insurance as he was assisted once again by Stabinger.
Rounding out the scoring for Bellefonte at 78:20 was a Caton goal from Jamin Ondrasik to ice the victory for the Raiders.
Next game up for Bellefonte is a game at PO Thursday night.

WINGATE - Tuesday the feisty Bald Eagle boys soccer team went up against the high octane play of visiting Hollidaysburg in Laurel Highlands action.
The Tigers sported a 9-2-2 record while the Eagles came into the contest with a 7-4-3 record.
Despite the home field advantage at Alumni Field, Hollidaysburg’s speed would be too much for Bald Eagle Area as the Eagles fell 7-0.
“It's always tough to be that far behind on a scoreboard, but honestly, I couldn't be more proud of how the guys did. It's sometimes a mental battle in the sport, and in a game where you can't call timeouts, and you can't regroup all the time,” Bald Eagle assistant coach Jared Gettig who was filling in for Coach Jason Bair. “Our guys really just hung in there and stayed together mentally. So, obviously, on the scoreboard, we came out on the wrong end of the stick, but I couldn't be more proud of the guys.”
Highlighting the night for Bald Eagle Area was its goal work.
Bald Eagle goalie Tanner Pearce stopped 18 shots in the contest while the Tigers’ goalie Liam Jancula had four. Pearce would also come up and squish some transition shots to send Hollidaysburg back frustrated at times.
“I thought Tanner did really well with saving a lot of shots coming at him today. His hands were really solid. Throughout the season, he's had a couple moments where we've been practicing some handling issues, but he looked really solid tonight, and honestly didn't make any mistakes,” said Gettig. “He did everything we asked him to do, and even pulled out some great saves behind us. So, Tanner was probably one of the stars of the show for us on defense tonight, and some of the outside backs just one on one against some really tough, speedy players. They held their own for a long time, so... really good work from the backs.”
But the Tigers would go right to work after the opening possession. Hollidaysburg had both their transition game and its finesse slow down offense both working.
It would be Bryce Hollingshead’s header in front of the goal that would slip past and notch the first point of the game at 36:05.
Despite settling in on defense, the Tigers were at it again almost nine minutes later.
This time Hollingshead would pick up the assist as he found Devin Walters for a second header goal of the game at 27:11.
The pressure continued on the Eagles’ side of the field where they continued to pound the ball to the goalie area.
Four minutes later, Hollidaysburg found the back of the net once again on an unassisted goal at the 23-minute mark, upping the score to 3-0.
As the half was winding down, the Tigers managed to push another goal in late.
Max Buchanan’s unassisted goal at 2:37, gave Hollidaysburg quite a cushion as the two teams went into the overtime.
Bald Eagle came strong out of the half and drove the ball down the field, but he would be stopped by the Tigers’ tough back line of defense.
But after putting pressure in the Hollidaysburg side on a mini run, the Hollidaysburg offense was at it again.
Hollingshead scored his second goal of the night as he hooked up on a pass from Caiden Galioto and sent it home at 30:20.
Tyler Davis rounded out the individual scoring at 13:07 while the Eagles would have a shot deflect off on of their own players for an own goal ending the game in a 7-0 victory.

SPRING MILLS. - The Penns Valley ball continues to win at a blistering pace.
Monday was no exception.
Offensively the Lady Rams showed that they could win three different ways in their 3-0 win over the Southern Huntingdon Rockets.
Penns Valley won 25-18, 25-8 and 25-17.
“They are playing so clean. Our goal is, playoffs are upon us, so we got to start, you know, really playing clean volleyball, not make a lot of mistakes on our side, and the girls just surprise me,” said Penns Valley coach Skylar Fleshman. “They keep surprising me. It keeps getting better every day, and I'm so proud of them.”
Starting from the very first game Penns Valley found themselves in a back-and-forth battle with the feisty
Lady Rockets in what would be a side out fest with 28.
Leading the Rams in the contest was Jordan Johnson as she picked up four service points. All of her points came at crunch time with the game tied at 13.
After a Penns Valley side out putting the Rams ahead.
Johnson stepped to the line and hit an ace to start the run.
On her second serve, the Rockets weren’t able to return it.
She added her second ace in the run, upping the Penns Valley lead to 17-13.
The ace would cause Southern Huntingdon to call a time out.
Coming out of the break, Johnson added another point before the Rockets could get back the possession.
The two would exchange the next five side out, giving the home team a 22-17 advantage.
One of the Rams front row forces in the contest Caroline Wert got it done at the service line as well posting two late points, putting her team just one point away.
It seemed fitting that it would be a side out that would give Penns Valley the 25-18 win.
“All around our hitters not just two hitters, it's all four or five of my hitters, and all my setters are just consistently feeding the ball and fighting to keep everything off the floor,” said Fleshman. “So it's just, it's a whole team effort, and they're all doing amazing.”
Game two the Rams showed that they also could dominate a contest from beginning to end.
Penns Valley’s Paige Johnson got her team off to the strong start as she rolled off four consecutive points.
In the run, Wert picked up her team’s first point with a block at the net. Paige Johnson followed with an ace while Jordan Johnson finished things off with two consecutive blasts.
After a side out, Penns Valley gave the ball to Wert. She continued the Rams dominance as she added three more points from the line to go ahead 8-1.
Things continued to roll as the Rockets would make it an 8-2 contest before Sydnie Dalton reeled off four more points to up their lead to 12-3.
Penns Valley never looked back from there as they cruised to a 25-8 victory.
In the third game, the Lady Rams found themselves trailing 17-11 as Fleshman called a time out to get her team refocused and ready to get back into the contest.
And come back they did.
Wert and company ran off the next 13 service points to put the game and match on ice. In the run, Wert posted two aces. Also, Jordan Johnson, Katie Auman and Wert and the entire front hit the it to where the Rockets weren’t, taking the contest 25-17 and erasing a 6-point deficit and winning by eight.
Penns Valley’s is back in action Tuesday against Tyrone.
