With cooperation and funding through a Metro East Park and Recreation District Parks and Trails Grant, the Engelmann Farm trail extension is officially complete!

The three new loop extensions give visitors even more routes to choose from and new ways to explore the park.

With cooler temperatures arriving and the leaves beginning to change, it’s a great time to hit the trail and enjoy the scenic views across Engelmann Farm’s open fields.

🥏 Disc golf tournament time at Foley Park!

The Bi-State Disc Golf Group will be hosting its annual membership tournament, Foley Fling Tag Battle VI, on November 1st at Foley Park!

This will be the first tournament played with all of Foley Park’s new disc golf baskets installed, and we’re excited to see the full course put to the test!

Whether you’re brand new to disc golf or an old pro, all ages and skill levels are welcome. We’ve worked to develop a course that we believe will be fun and challenging for everyone, and we’re excited about the future of disc golf at Foley Park as we continue to develop and improve the course.

Improvements are underway at Engelmann Farm!

Construction begins today on our new 1-mile paved trail extension. Once completed, visitors will be able to enjoy nearly 2.5 miles of paved trails starting right from the park entrance, with a direct connection to the MetroBikeLink Trail system.

This project is made possible through the partnership and funding of St. Clair County and a trail grant from the Metro East Park and Recreation District (MEPRD)

🥏 The Course Is Taking Shape! 🥏

Yesterday, we installed the first nine permanent Titan Pro 35 baskets on the new disc golf course at Foley Park!

Over the past week, we've also been clearing high-growth vegetation in out-of-bounds areas, allowing our crew to get in and make final fairway adjustments as the course continues to come together.

With beautiful weather expected for the start of this weekend, it's a great time to get outside and see the progress for yourself.

Whether you're a seasoned disc golfer or simply curious about the new course, we invite you to stop by, walk the layout, and check out the newest addition to Foley Park.

We would like to thank the O'Fallon Illinois YMCA and BJC HealthCare for organizing the Step Up for Diabetes Walk at Engelmann Farm yesterday, and to everyone who came out and participated in the event.

A special thank you to the O'Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce for featuring Engelmann Farm as part of their June Healthy Trail Challenge, helping promote healthy lifestyles and outdoor recreation throughout our community.

We're also excited to share that work will begin this summer on a new trail extension at Engelmann Farm with assistance from the Metro East Park and Recreation District Parks & Trail Grant Program. Once completed the park will offer nearly 2.5 miles of paved walking trails.

Big thanks to the S**g and Erb reps for using Foley Park as a host site Tuesday morning for a demo of the S**g RC Extreme Slope Mower — also known as the “S**g Tree Frog.”

Even with all the rain from Monday, the machine performed extremely well and handled the conditions with ease. It was a great opportunity to see firsthand how this type of equipment could improve safety and efficiency on steep slopes and hard-to-reach areas.

We appreciate S**g and Erb taking the time to demonstrate the technology, answer questions, and allow several different operators the opportunity to test it out throughout the morning.

🌼 Foley Park’s 1/4-acre pollinator plot is just over 6 months in and starting to come to life with new color and activity.

The project began with the help of Gage Lang and volunteers using a mixture of native seed and plugs as part of his Conservation Service Award project. Since then, our crew has continued clearing unwanted growth, identifying native species, and recently adding several new native plants to help the plot continue to develop.

New additions include butterfly milkweed, whorled milkweed, wild ageratum (mistflower), Virginia bluebells, asters, and other native pollinator species that provide important habitat and food sources for butterflies, bees, and other wildlife. 🐝🦋

The plot will take time to fully establish, but we’re excited to see more native plants, pollinators, and color becoming part of the landscape at Foley Park.
