Yesterday, Shift 4 responded to a fire at the Arbor Hills Apartment Complex on the Belleville/Nutley border.

With buildings located in both municipalities, Belleville Fire Department and Nutley Fire Department received calls reporting the fire and were dispatched on the initial assignment.

Firefighters arrived to find an active fire condition and quickly went to work. Through an aggressive and coordinated attack, crews were able to stop and prevent further extension throughout the building.

Montclair Truck 1 responded as a mutual aid truck company and assisted with operations on scene. Also, Bell & Siren Club Headquarters 17 was requested to provide firefighter rehabilitation services.

This incident serves as another example of the strong mutual aid relationships between neighboring departments and the professionalism of all responding personnel.

Great work by all companies operating on scene for a quick knockdown.

Unfortunately Santa's sleigh had to make a detour through the snow this year. Due to the current weather and the unsafe conditions we have to cancel Santa Day at the Firehouse. Santa Day is always a fun day for our Department to give back to the community. Thank you to our vendors Michael's Roscommon House, and our volunteer elves who donate their time every year. Stay tuned for any updates, thank you.
