October is Pedestrian Safety Month, and the Bellevue Police Department wants to remind everyone that getting to your destination safely is a shared responsibility.
Bellevue is a walkable community where pedestrians cross the streets every day as they walk to school, visit local businesses, and enjoy our beautiful city. Whether you are driving or walking, taking a few extra seconds can make a significant difference.
Slow down. Stay alert. Look out for one another.
The moment you step out of your vehicle, you become a pedestrian. ๐ถโโก๏ธ
For October's National Pedestrian Safety Month, we're reminding everyone that safety is a 2-way street:
๐๏ธ Drivers: Scan crosswalks and stay focused โ put the phone away.
๐ Pedestrians: Stay visible, use crosswalks and look both ways before stepping off the curb.
