Bellevue 36th Street

Hey Bellevue! Our crews are back at work for the season. Last week, they began removing existing utility vaults and installing new storm sewer pipe at the north end of the project.

Hey Bellevue! We have entered Phase Two of the 36th St Improvement Project.

For the next couple of months, crews will wrap up current work and add temporary paving on side roads and driveways to prepare for the winter shutdown.

Our crews have been working over the last couple weeks to place pavement and storm pipes on northbound 36th Street.

Hey Bellevue! Check out the progress happening along 36th Street.

In the first photo, the contractor is installing storm sewer infrastructure at the northeast corner of 36th Street & Schneekloth Road.

In the second photo, fill material is being placed and compacted for the new northbound lane on 36th Street, stretching from Schneekloth to Platteview roads.

Hey Bellevue! We have some updated construction information for you!

Earlier this week, traffic shifted to the new pavement on 36th St. from Platteview Rd. to Birchwood Dr. Segments of Schneekloth Rd. and Spring Blvd. just east of 36th St. are now closed through November.

For the next couple of months, crews will continue working on grading, installing storm sewers and paving the southbound lanes of 36th Street in the area of Platteview Road to Tammy Street.

This week, the contractor placed and compacted fill materials for the new lanes on 36th St north of Platteview Road.

This week, the contractor milled the existing asphalt north of Platteview Road on 36th Street to prepare for the remaining grading work.

Last week the contractor placed temporary pavement north of Platteview Road on 36th Street to allow traffic shifts for construction of additional street improvements.

TRAFFIC UPDATE⚠️The closure of 36th St, south of Platteview Rd, is associated with MUD’s watermain project, unrelated to the roadway improvements. MUD indicated it is scheduled to open back up January of 2025. The roadway project on 36th St is scheduled to last through 2025 but will remain open to traffic throughout.

Hey Bellevue! Starting the week of September 16th, traffic will be restricted to one-lane between Schneekloth Road and Tammy Street. In addition, Spring Boulevard will be closed at 36th Street during this time. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to last for three weeks.

Traffic Update⚠️ The Bellevue Public Works Department has announced that the intersection of 36th Street and Capehart Road will have various lane and turn restrictions implemented Wednesday, August 9th at 9 a.m. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed August 31st.

Motorists are reminded to use caution, be mindful of signing and to buckle up.
