Ready to squash the competition? We're getting ready for Halloween on the Hill and showing you how to build a gourd-geous pumpkin racer!
Whether you're signed up to race this weekend or want to have your own pumpkin race at home, here are the steps to get started:
1. Choose your pumpkin and gather your tools
2. Drill two level, parallel axle holes through the pumpkin
3. Slide the threaded rods through each hole to create your axles
4. Add a washer and a hex nut on the inside of each axle to secure it
5. Add a washer and two lock nuts or hex nuts on the outer side of each axle
6. Slide one wheel onto each axle
7. Add another washer and nut on the outside of each wheel to hold it in place
8. Finish each axle with an acorn nut to keep everything tight and safe
9. Test your wheels to make sure they spin smoothly
10. Decorate your pumpkin so it is race day ready
Halloween on the Hill is lighting up South Bellevue Community Center this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Costumes, crafts, candy, and community fun are ahead!
