🚔 Teen Citizen’s Police Academy – Now Accepting Applications! 🚔

The Bellevue Police Department is excited to host our Teen Citizen’s Police Academy on May 27th & 28th, 2026!

This hands-on program is open to Bellevue youth ages 14–19 and offers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to be a police officer. Participants will experience real-world activities like:
🔹 Building searches
🔹 Traffic stop observations
🔹 K9 demonstrations
🔹 Light defensive tactics
🔹 And much more!

If you’re interested in a future in law enforcement, this is an incredible opportunity to learn, ask questions, and get involved.

✅ Must be ages 14–19
✅ No criminal record

📅 Application deadline: May 14th, 2026
📍 Applications must be returned to the Bellevue Police Department

Proud to share that I’ve officially completed fi****ms instructor school! This week I had the opportunity to assist the academy in training recruits during handgun week, an incredibly rewarding experience. Grateful for the chance to help shape the next generation and continue growing in this field.

Spent some time instructing the SDLEA Academy this past week teaching a block of instruction on traffic software. We went over the nuts and bolts of things like properly writing a citation and completing a crash report. Skills that may not seem glamorous but are essential to doing the job the right way.

The recruits were dialed in, asking good questions and really putting in the effort to learn. It’s always encouraging to see that kind of focus from the next generation coming into the profession.

Looking forward to seeing them finish strong and graduate soon. Excited for what’s ahead for each of them.

Bellevue East Unified Basketball took down Burke and the gym was LOUD. If you’ve never been to a unified game, you’re missing out — best energy in the building, hands down.
