Our Firefighters stayed hydrated yesterday when they visited and supported the Adaptive Alliance lemonade stand.

Hot weather continues this week. Stay cool. Drink more water (and a little lemonade).

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect until Tuesday June 30 at 7p.
- Find ways to stay cool.
- Check on the elderly, neighbors, those needing assistance, and pets.
- Do not leave people or pets in a vehicle.
- Stay hydrated
- Wear light-weight and light-colored clothing

A great way to cool down and support a local agency doing great work in our communities is to visit the Adaptive Alliance Lemonade Stand on Tuesday June 30 from 10a-12p.

The Town of Beloit Fire Department and City of Beloit Fire Department were dispatched to a residential fire in the 6200 block of South Highway 51 in the Town of Rock at 9:24am today.

Smoke and flames were showing upon the Town of Beloit’s arrival. The fire required additional mutual aid units especially as this area does not have fire hydrants and water tenders are required to bring water to the scene for firefighting operations.

Two departments – one quick response, working together. Great job by both departments!

The American Red Cross of Wisconsin is assisting the residents. .

Prevention is our primary mission. Some good reminders:
- Always remember to properly discard smoking materials. Even better do not smoke.
- Never leave cooking unattended.
- Make sure you there are working smoke alarms on each level of the home and outside every bedroom. Test them.
- Have a carbon monoxide alarm outside of sleeping areas.

Town members attended a multi-day course hosted by Janesville Fire Department to become Water Rescue Technicians. While we support member training efforts, members make the commitment. Thank you!

Long days, cold water but these skill increase our capabilities and safety should we have to put training into action. These members will also become part of a regional team with the City of Beloit Fire Department.

Practice safety around water so we do not have to respond.

Over the last week Town of Beloit crews have been training on extrication. Crews were able to utilize tools, go over scenarios, and sharpen skills.

Thank you to Dewey's Towing & Recovery Service for your facilities and providing vehicles.
