From watching a fidget spinner take shape on a CNC mill to trying welding and brazing, BHS students are getting a closer look at manufacturing—and where it could take them!

October is National Manufacturing Month, and Belpre High School’s Career Technical Education program is helping students explore the skills, technology, and people behind the products we use.

At Micro Machine Works in Vincent, students discovered the precision that goes into making custom parts for manufacturers across the country, including aerospace and defense applications. They explored computer-controlled CNC machines, learned how precision measuring equipment checks the accuracy of parts, and watched a CNC mill machine a fidget spinner from start to finish.

At Manufacturing in Action Day at the Washington County Career Center’s Adult Technical Training Center in Marietta, students tried welding and brazing, learned about training in HVAC, CDL, and Instrumentation & Electricity, and connected with industry professionals to explore career paths.

For our students, these visits make future possibilities feel a little more real. They can see the work, try new skills, ask questions, and begin picturing themselves in careers they may never have considered.

The Pride of Belpre return home as STATE QUALIFIERS for the SIXTH consecutive year!

The Pride of Belpre has done it again! They are an OMEA STATE QUALIFYING BAND! Their next competition will be at Warren High School on October 17th! Congratulations to the band, staff, boosters, and parents who work so hard to get this band on the field!
