This morning, I am thankful for Bemidji Regional Airport that connects us to Minneapolis…and the world. Not often that I get to watch a plane land alongside us….makes me grateful for amazing traffic control professionals.

I had an opportunity last week to talk about the preliminary levy, upcoming elections,, and an update on replacing the highway 197 street lights.

ON CHATPOD, the Chatabout Podcast, presented by First National Bank Bemidji:
Mayor Jorge Prince checks in to update what's happening in Bemidji. He discusses the preliminary levy, road construction, light poles and much more city stuff. Check it out HERE: https://bemidjinow.com/episode/10-16-hizzoner-highlights-mayor-jorge-prince-checks-in-on-all-things-bemidji/

❤️🏒 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR PLANNING COMMITTEE! And The Sanford Center🏒🚨

An event like Battle of the Badges doesn’t just happen overnight! It takes countless hours, hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of teamwork behind the scenes.

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to our planning committee for putting in the time, coordinating the details, bringing people together, and helping make this event such a success! From organizing, fundraising, and working with sponsors to making sure everything came together on game day, your efforts made a difference.

This event is about more than just FIRE vs. LAW ENFORCEMENT — it’s about community, camaraderie, friendly competition, and supporting great causes. ❤️💙

To everyone who helped plan, organize, and bring this event to life — THANK YOU! Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Not pictured is the amazing staff at United Way of Bemidji Area who helped bring this dream to life!

This is a fun competition and a great way for kids to share their ideas for our city.

Public safety. More murals. A new main street. A monthly community garbage pickup.

Those were some of the priorities imagined by last year’s Mayor for a Day Essay Contest winners. What will students care about this year?

Help us find out by promoting the 2026 Mayor for a Day Essay Contest, which is now open! Spread the word and encourage students in your community to share what they would do if they were mayor for a day.

Essays are due Dec. 11. https://ow.ly/xyso50ZUwnT
