Everyone is welcome to join us tomorrow for a variety of activities for all ages - drop in for support, listen to music, write a letter to Silver Rail πŸ’œ, or curl up with a book. We will continue to offer a quiet place to land and be surrounded by community as we process and grieve together.

We are adding a variety of gatherings and events at the Central Library on Monday and Tuesday as kids remain out of school, and hope to provide ways for children and people of all ages to connect and be in community with one another. The library can also be a place to be amongst others, but in quiet reflection if that's what you need. Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with our community and with everyone affected by this tragedy.

We have events planned throughout the day at the Central Library for children and families, starting with the llamas, who are visiting us on the east patio until 11:00 a.m. We'll be adding more family events on Monday and Tuesday. And of course, we always have books and quiet reading nooks, as well as places for people to gather together. πŸ“šβ€

Our gratitude to everyone who provided support, food, and more to their community today. Counselors from Deschutes County Health and from around the state were on hand at the Central Library, providing free drop-in support to anyone who needed it. A variety of certified therapy dogs were available outside the Central Library for anyone who needed canine comfort. And free food was generously provided by Thump and Cocina Flores thanks to generous financial support from Les Schwab. Deschutes County Health will continue to provide drop-in counseling services this weekend at Larkspur Community Center (1600 SE Reed Market Road in Bend; 1-6:00pm Saturday, 1-4:00pm Sunday). THANK YOU EVEYRONE FOR SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER.

The Central Library will be open for regular hours this weekend, but do note that counseling services are moving to Larkspur on Saturday and Sunday.

We want to thank our community for showing up with an outpouring of love. The greatest way to learn how to offer and receive additional support is directly through the Deschutes County website: dpl.pub/community-support

At this time, Deschutes County is specifically seeking:
- Qualified mental health professionals who may be available to support Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM*) services, including licensed clinicians and appropriately credentialed behavioral health providers.
- Donated food, refreshments, and practical supplies to support CISM events and those participating in response and recovery efforts.

Please use the form at this link: dpl.pub/donate-support to describe the specific support you or your organization can provide.

If you need mental health services or counseling, you can come to the Central Library or call the Deschutes County Stabilization Center at 541-585-7210.

*CISM is a structured, short-term support approach that helps individuals and groups manage the immediate stress and emotional effects of a critical incident.
