A seemingly busy day became a nothing-else-matters day. The worst nightmare of parents came true. The worst nightmare of a teacher’s partner came true today.
I called my niece, who attended school in this district as a child. I called my mom, who taught in this district before she retired - who told me stories of her conversations with her students during active shooter drills.
Forget the noise of rhetoric. Hug a loved one. Grieve, honor grief, and try to change this.
