We had the privilege of working with the Tri-County Explorers this weekend. The lesson plan included working with ground ladders and tool recognition. This program is for area high school students who are exploring a career in the fire service. We always enjoy teaching the future of the fire service.

Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington Counties, you continue to amaze us with your willingness to download the free PulsePoint app. As captured by this recent "CPR Needed" alert, our ever-growing network of responders and AEDs strengthens the safety net of survival across our community.

In this recent activation, we see the figures representing the app subscribers are red icons which mean they are "Registered or Pro Responders," people with specific credentials who are associated with some of our partnering agencies like hospitals and law enforcement agencies.

Anyone can download the free PulsePoint app to become a "Public Responder," who receives "CPR Needed" alerts for cardiac arrests in nearby public locations. You are not obligated to respond, but the notification will at least make you aware that someone nearby needs help. Once at the victim, our dispatchers can guide you through an assessment and, if needed, chest compressions.

Everyone can download the NEAR (PulsePoint AED app) to enter AEDs' locations into the registry.
