🚨 WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION NOTICE – BENNINGTON, NH 🚨

Please be advised that on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, starting at 7:00 AM, water service will be temporarily interrupted for approximately 12 hours near the intersection of Ross Road and Knightland Road in Bennington.

According to the Antrim Water & Sewer Department, crews will be installing a new gate valve, adding approximately 300 feet of water line, and installing a new flushing hydrant.

💧 What residents need to know:

* Water service may be unavailable for approximately 12 hours.
* The work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, October 20.
* Please plan ahead and store enough water for drinking, cooking, and other household needs during the interruption.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience while this important water system improvement is completed.

As election season gets underway, NHDOT is reminding candidates and campaign workers that political signs are prohibited within State highway rights-of-way and may be removed when they create a safety hazard or interfere with highway operations.
Signs that interfere with traffic or highway maintenance, including mowing, may also be removed.
Candidates should place signs only on private property with the property owner’s permission and remove all signs by the required deadline following the election.

NEWS RELEASE: NEARLY 70 ARRESTED OVER JULY 4 HOLIDAY WEEKEND

CONCORD, N.H. – Nearly 70 people were arrested during statewide enhanced enforcement initiatives over the July 4 holiday weekend.

Between Friday, July 3, 2026, and Sunday, July 5, 2026, the New Hampshire State Police added additional patrols to deter and detect dangerous driving and boating behaviors.

During the initiatives, Troopers conducted nearly 1,600 traffic stops, which resulted in 659 speed citations and 59 citations for distracted driving. Of the 65 drivers arrested, 17 were suspected of operating under the influence. Additionally, during the efforts, there were 3,403 total calls for service. No deadly crashes were reported to the State Police.

Additionally, Marine Patrol Officers stopped 163 boats, including 19 hazardous/reckless boaters. Officers responded to 10 reported boating-related crashes and made five arrests, four of which were for boating under the influence.

The New Hampshire State Police remain committed to enhancing safety for all roadway and waterway users and will continue to enforce the state’s traffic safety laws.
