PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATELY RELEASE
CYTO MOVEMENT BEGINS SCHOOL SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION ACROSS FIVE SOUTHEASTERN COUNTIES
The CYTO Movement has officially commenced a five-county school supplies distribution initiative aimed at supporting school-going children and families across southeastern Liberia as the new academic year begins.
The initiative is being spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer of the CYTO Movement, H.E. Madam Cytarus Grace Dahn (Cytana Cytana Cyto), in collaboration with the Movement’s leadership, chaired by Mr. Tommy B. Wesseh, along with other leaders, volunteers, and members of the organization.
The distribution exercise will cover Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Maryland, River Gee, and Grand Kru Counties, with particular attention given to children whose parents and guardians may face financial difficulties in providing essential school materials.
The CYTO Movement recognizes that the beginning of a new school year can place significant financial pressure on families. Through this initiative, the Movement seeks to help reduce that burden while ensuring that children are equipped with basic materials needed to return to school with dignity, confidence, and readiness to learn.
The initiative also reflects the Movement’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at improving access to education for Liberian children. It is further aligned with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s vision of ensuring that children are not prevented from attending school because their families cannot afford basic educational supplies.
Some of the materials being distributed were provided through the Office of the President, supporting the broader effort to assist vulnerable children and communities.
The supplies include school bags, copybooks, pens, pencils, shoes and sneakers, jackets, reflective jackets for students, and other educational materials. Approximately 5,000 copybooks, 5,000 pairs of shoes and sneakers, and jackets, reflective jackets are among the items being distributed.
The CYTO Movement delegation will spend five days traveling across the five southeastern counties to distribute the supplies directly to beneficiaries.
The Movement remains committed to community service, youth empowerment, education, and initiatives that contribute to the well-being and development of Liberia’s children.
