➕ Mathing Our Way Through 2nd Grade! ✏️

Our 2nd graders are building their math skills with a hands-on activity focused on estimation and place value! Students are making sticks and bundles to help them visualize numbers, understand groups of tens and ones, and make reasonable estimates.

By working with concrete materials, our young mathematicians are strengthening their number sense while making math meaningful and fun! 🧮💡

🎃 Pumpkin Jack Is Coming to Life in 2nd Grade! 🍂

Our 2nd graders are diving into a vibrant, hands-on learning project all about pumpkins and the plant life cycle! 🌱

Today, we read Pumpkin Jack, a wonderful story that follows a pumpkin through its life cycle, and then we got our hands dirty carving our very own pumpkins! 🎃

Now the real science begins! We’ll keep our pumpkins in the classroom and observe how they decay over time. We’re hoping that by spring, we’ll have some beautiful pumpkin plants growing! 🌿

Along the way, students will have plenty of opportunities to read, write, observe, and learn about plant life cycles as they watch nature in action.

We can’t wait to see our very own Pumpkin Jack come to life! 🧡
