We could not be more proud or honored to have Jane as our Library Director. Thank you Jane for everything you do.

Jane, director of the Beresford Public Library, was honored as Librarian of the Year at the South Dakota Library Association conference, an award that recognizes SDLA members with at least ten years of service who have made significant contributions to library service in a South Dakota community.

Jane has proudly served as the director of the Beresford Public Library for 26 years, making this recognition especially meaningful.

Established in 1972, the South Dakota Library Association Librarian of the Year award highlights leadership, initiative, and advocacy that improve local library programs, and recent recipients have been celebrated for supporting statewide library initiatives and strengthening community access to information.

This week, we join our community in recognizing Fall Prevention Awareness Week and thank our Mayor for issuing a proclamation highlighting the importance of fall prevention and safety for all ages.

Falls are not a normal part of aging, and many falls can be prevented through awareness, education, and simple safety measures. We encourage everyone to learn more about staying active, independent, and safe by visiting the South Dakota Falls Prevention Coalition website:
