Governor Livingston High School Spanish 4 Students Connect Literature, Culture Through End-of-Year Project

Spanish 4 students at Governor Livingston High School recently wrapped up an exciting end-of-year project inspired by the bilingual novel El Cuento del Cafecito by Julia Alvarez. The overarching goal of the assignment was to male personal connections to the novel’s characters, themes, and events, while strengthening their confidence and skills in reading authentic Spanish literature.

Flag Day Celebrated Across BHPS 🇺🇸✨

Flag Day, officially celebrated each year on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the American flag, is always a special occasion in BHPS. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about our nation while taking part in some favorite school traditions.

At Hughes Elementary School, students performed patriotic songs and played their instruments at an outdoor concert, while 4th graders proudly showcased their state projects in the annual “float” parade.

At Mountain Park Elementary School, students involved in scouting were invited to wear their uniforms and participate in a procession to the school flagpole. To celebrate the occasion, staff and students lined up in front of the school, many dressed in red, white, and blue or sporting festive flag-themed attire, creating a sea of patriotic spirit for all to enjoy. 🇺🇸✨

Baseball: Ramsey Ends Gov. Livingston's Group 2 Championship Reign, Beating the Highlanders, 4-2, in the State Final

Regarding the remarkable run and this group of players that made it to three state championships, Head Coach Chris Roof said, ""Unfortunately, everything comes to an end, right?" Roof said of this senior class. "The group we have, years from now, these kids are always gonna be talked about (as) just special, special players, but more importantly, they are better human beings. They're leaders. They support each other."

Columbia Middle School Students Take Coding Skills to New Heights with CoDrones -
Berkeley Heights Education Foundation Grant Helps Bring New Technology to CMS

This year, Columbia Middle School students enhanced their coding skills through the introduction of CoDrones in the Computer Science curriculum. Using block-based coding or Python, students programmed drones to fly, navigate obstacle courses, and complete challenges. This hands-on learning opportunity was made possible through the generous support of the Berkeley Heights Education Foundation.

Berkeley Heights Public Schools Honor and Celebrate Nine Retirees for Combined 177 Years of Service

Last night, Berkeley Heights Public Schools celebrated and honored the remarkable careers of 9 individuals whose dedication has shaped and enhanced Berkeley Heights Public Schools.

"The retirees we celebrate tonight have served in various crucial roles, including teachers, a head custodian, paraprofessionals, an administrative assistant, a bus driver, and a budget/accounting specialist. Each person has contributed uniquely to our district, leaving a lasting impact on the lives they’ve touched," said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kim Feltre. " To our esteemed retirees, on behalf of the Board of Education and the entire district, I extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication and commitment to our students and community."

Congratulations to Governor Livingston High School seniors Noah Abdalla and Claire Lee on being named recipients of the 2025–2026 UCIAC Scholar-Athlete Award.

This prestigious honor recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding achievement both in the classroom and in their athletic pursuits.

Noah, a three-sport athlete, has excelled in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Track & Field, while Claire has been a dedicated four-year Varsity Cheerleader. Through their hard work, commitment, and leadership, both Noah and Claire have distinguished themselves academically and athletically, serving as exemplary representatives of Governor Livingston High School
