[URGENT ACTION ALERT]
TODAY 6/29 at 2:30pm the Berkeley City Council Agenda & Rules Committee will have a special meeting!
Councilmember Davila has submitted an item that would cut BPD's budget by 50% and divert millions of dollars to alternatives to policing and community resources. The committee must choose to send the item to the Council agenda (rather than to policy committee or back to Councilmember Davila) for it to be voted on.
Please submit a public comment, or email councilmembers directly, on or before Monday urging them to send the item to the City Council's agenda.
Check out https://linktr.ee/defundberkeleypd for email templates and Davila’s full proposal!
