Every international student on this campus can give you their own story of setting 10 alarms at 3 AM for their exam or going to sleep at 6 am after their 3-hour lectures. As diverse as our international student community is, we have students from all across the globe in all different time zones. Each one of them should be able to study in their best capacity, and they should not be treated as if they’re across the street on telegraph. This is not a single-case issue, but rather, a universal situation all international students are facing every single day.
Our academic, mental, and physical well-being deserve more awareness and protection from instructors, faculties, and the campus administration.
This is the reason we’re launching the (International Community Academic Need) campaign today. We believe that international students deserve adequate accommodations for our needs, and like all other students at Cal, we should also be able to on this campus.

International students enrolled in UC Berkeley have been disproportionately affected by the current global pandemic, as they cope with incomparable challenges in academics while their mental health exacerbated by the uncertainties caused by the changes in policies and academics. As an Office focusing on protecting the rights of international students, we are working hard for making the Go Local Program possible. We need every one of you to make our voice more powerful.
We have prepared a Google Form in order to collect your voice to reflect our demands as international students at Cal (Survey link: https://forms.gle/f7gpSrJhJdoV96x58). This survey will only take you a minute. By taking this survey, you will help the university's administration make more informed decisions for the upcoming Spring semester under the global pandemic.
