Interested in peer counseling? Looking for clinical experience? Join our team and help provide counseling services to fellow students! SSPC is the only in-person peer counseling service on Berkeley’s campus. Come stop by an infosession to learn more about us!
Attendance at one infosession from start to finish is mandatory for anyone interested in joining. During the first half, we will go over what SSPC does and answer any questions. We will then do short interviews during the last hour of the infosession.

Happy Juneteenth! Juneteenth is the oldest national commemoration of the ending of slavery. Today is a day of celebration, rememberance, and reflection as America moves towards truly reckoning with its history of slavery and current existing systems of racial oppression. The lingering impact of trauma caused by slavery and continued institutional racism on Black Americans are connected to today’s racial mental health disparities. In raising awareness about mental health, it is also important to learn more about the historical and systemic context of the mental health system.
