The Huchiun Ohlone thoughtfully managed the riparian habitat they benefited from, fully aware of its fortuitous, delicate nature...."

Rematriation is an ongoing process. Land Return was just a first step.

This Indigenous Peoples Day, we are officially launching the Let the Land Breathe Campaign to raise $1Million dollars to begin the restoration of the West Berkeley Shellmound.

The Lisjan people have fought for decades and waited for centuries for this moment: the rematriation of our oldest sacred site, the West Berkeley Shellmound. Now that the land has been returned, the process of healing begins.
