🎃 Happy Halloween from Berkley Fire/Rescue!

As everyone heads out for trick-or-treating tonight, remember to slow down, stay alert, be visible, and check those treats! Let’s make it a fun and safe Halloween for everyone.

⏰ And don’t forget—we “fall back” this weekend! When you turn your clocks back one hour, take a few minutes to test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and replace batteries if needed.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween from Berkley Fire/Rescue!

That’s a wrap on Berkley’s Annual Halloween Event! 👻

We hope everyone had a great time tonight! This event has grown into something bigger than we ever could have imagined, and seeing so many families and members of our community come together made this year’s event truly special.

An event like this doesn’t happen without a lot of people working together. We would like to thank all of our Town employees and their families, our community groups and partners, the Berkley School PTO, and everyone who volunteered, donated, helped with setup and cleanup, or contributed in any way to making tonight a success.

A special thank you to Harrie & Ed Harmon of American Tree for providing the hayrides. The hayrides were a new addition to this year’s event, and judging by the smiles and the lines throughout the night, we think they were a hit!

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us! Seeing the Berkley Common filled with families, costumes, laughter, and neighbors enjoying the evening together is exactly what this event is all about.

We’re incredibly proud of what this community event has become, and we’re already looking forward to making it even better next year!

🎃 Happy Halloween from Berkley Fire/Rescue

Berkley Fire/Rescue would like to congratulate FF Deven Marchand on his graduation this evening from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Call/Volunteer Recruit Firefighter Training Class #129!

Deven completed months of demanding training on nights and weekends, developing the skills and knowledge necessary to serve our community as a firefighter.

We are proud of Deven’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to Berkley Fire/Rescue and the community we serve.

Congratulations to Deven and all the members of Class #129 on this accomplishment and officially becoming some of the Commonwealth’s newest firefighters!

This week, several members of Berkley Fire/Rescue took advantage of a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training opportunity made possible through a FEMA grant awarded to the Lakeville Fire Department.

We would like to thank Lakeville Fire Department for extending this opportunity to our members, the New Bedford Fire Department for providing their training facility and instructional staff, and Lt. Ryan Silvia of Lakeville Fire for his hard work securing the grant and organizing this valuable training program.

Opportunities like this allow our firefighters to train in realistic environments, strengthen their skills, and work alongside neighboring departments—all while better preparing them to respond when a firefighter needs help.

This morning, members of Berkley Fire/Rescue trained on Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) skills.

Firefighters worked through an SCBA maze with limited visibility to locate and rescue a manikin simulating a downed firefighter. Several scenarios required multiple teams, reinforcing the importance of communication, teamwork, and coordination during complex firefighter rescues.

RIT training prepares our members for one of the most critical situations on the fireground — rescuing a firefighter who becomes trapped, injured, or unable to escape.

A big thank you to the Dighton Fire Department for allowing us to use their training facility and the Berkley CERT Team for providing firefighter rehab and SCBA air supply throughout the morning.
