Last week, we celebrated the grand reopening of Schaller Honda following their exciting expansion!

Here’s a fun fact: Did you know that part of Schaller Honda’s building is actually in Berlin? They even have a sign marking the Berlin town line!

We may have to share Schaller Honda with our neighbors, but we’re happy to claim our little piece! 😊

Congratulations to the entire Schaller Honda team on their expansion! It’s always exciting to see local businesses continue to grow and thrive!

The Berlin Fair may be over, but the local businesses Kevin found are right here in Berlin all year long!

Next up on Kevin’s Local Business Hunt: Berlin Fair Edition is A1 Home Improvement!

Kevin caught up with the A1 team at the Fair to learn more about this local, family-owned business. Based right here on the Berlin Turnpike, A1 specializes in residential and commercial roofing, roof repairs and replacements, siding, windows, doors, gutters and more.

The Fair gave us the perfect place to find them, but you don’t have to wait until next year to support local!

Introducing Kevin’s Berlin Business Hunt: Berlin Fair Edition!

Kevin hit the Berlin Fair looking for local businesses and learning a little more about what they do right here in our community.

First stop: Valentin Karate! Valentin Karate
Kevin stopped by to talk about their programs, which focus on building confidence, discipline and focus, and he even put himself to the test by breaking a board!

And of course, before moving on, Kevin had to ask: What’s your favorite food at the Berlin Fair?

Their answer: Pierogis at the Kensington Methodist Church Booth!

Follow along as Kevin continues his Berlin Business Hunt: Berlin Fair Edition and see which Berlin business he finds next!

A big day for Berlin!

Today, we celebrated the official ribbon cutting of 55 Steele Center, marking the completion of 52 new residential units in the heart of our downtown.

Located just steps from the Berlin Train Station, the new three-story building features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and represents the final building in the larger Steele Center development. With its completion, Steele Center now includes 72 residential units along with commercial and restaurant space.

This project represents years of planning, partnership and investment in Berlin’s downtown and transit oriented district. We’re excited to see this vision come to life and welcome new residents to our community!

Congratulations to Newport Realty Group and everyone who helped make this project a reality.

Welcome to Berlin!

Berlin Mayor Mark Kaczynski, Town Manager Ryan Curley, Economic Development Director Kevin Bielmeier, and New Britain-Berlin Chamber President Hunter Mathena paid a visit to Eversource headquarters last Friday!

They met with Sam Carmody, Senior Specialist of Community Relations; Jeff Pugliese, Director of Community Relations; Tom McDermott, Manager of Facilities Operations; and Amy Reed, Supervisor of Facilities Management.

Eversource serves nearly 4 million people with electric and gas service across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, with operational roots tracing back to the mid-19th century. In Connecticut, their history began in the 1950s as the original Hartford Electric Company.

Right here in Berlin, Eversource’s 130-acre campus houses 900,000 square feet of buildings, including an active training facility. Each May, the campus hosts a Lineman’s Rodeo, where linemen from all three states compete in a fun, public event that also helps raise funds for the Lions Club!

During the visit, the Eversource team discussed the many economic and community development benefits they have to offer, with even more on the horizon.

The Town of Berlin looks forward to expanding its relationship with Eversource and exploring future opportunities together!
