POLICE DEPARTMENT SEEKING INFORMATION

The Police Department is requesting the public's assistance regarding an incident that occurred late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
A male driving a small black pickup truck approached a residence and repeatedly knocked on the door during the late-night hours.
While this may have been an innocent mistake, the late hour and persistent knocking raise questions about the individual's intentions, particularly at a time when most residents would be asleep.
We are looking into the circumstances and would like to identify the individual to determine whether there was any other reason for his actions to put the homeowners mind at ease.
Anyone who may have observed a small black pickup truck in the area late Monday night or early Tuesday morning is encouraged to contact the Police Department.

VACATION HOUSE WATCHING

Planning a vacation or going to be away from home for an extended period of time? Did you know I offer Vacation House Watches?

This is a service I offer to residents who would like some additional peace of mind while they're away.

Depending on your preferences, a house watch can include:
✅ Driving by your residence to check for anything unusual or suspicious.
✅ Walking around the property to check doors, windows, and other potential entry points.
✅ Checking for anything that appears out of place, unsecured, or concerning.
✅ Contacting you directly if something needs your attention, including sending photographs when appropriate.

Here's a perfect example of why this service can be valuable:

Just this afternoon, while checking a residence for a couple who are out of town for an extended period, I discovered two open doors. I was able to contact the homeowners, send them photographs, and make sure everything was okay.
Sometimes it's the little things that can prevent a much bigger problem.

CONFIDENTIALITY IS A PRIORITY.

Your travel plans, the dates you'll be away, and any information you provide will be kept confidential and used only for the purpose of providing this service.

This is completely optional. Some residents may simply want an occasional drive-by, while others may feel more comfortable with a more thorough exterior inspection.

If you're comfortable having me check on your property while you're away, please feel free to contact me directly to make arrangements.

Protecting our communities isn't limited to responding to emergencies. Sometimes it's simply making sure everything is okay while residents are away.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting this young man at the Cenex in Carpio, and I have to say, he was one of the most polite and respectful young kids I've met in a long time!
We had a great conversation, took a few pictures, and he even got to climb into the driver's seat of my squad car!
A special thank-you to his mom for taking the time to introduce us. Encounters like this are one of my favorite parts of being a police officer.
It's always a good day when you can put a smile on a child's face, although judging by these pictures, I think he put just as big a smile on mine!

This phone was turned in to the Berthold Police Department two days ago by a resident who found it in town. On the screen there is a notification from Banco Azteca
If you recognize it, know who it may belong to, or have heard of someone who recently lost a phone in Berthold, please give me a call so I can get it returned to its owner.

POWER OUTAGE NOTICE – CITY OF CARPIO

The City of Carpio is currently experiencing a power outage. Power is expected to be out for approximately 2–3 hours.
The issue has been reported and is currently in the process of being addressed.

MISSING DOG – CARPIO AREA
We are asking residents to please keep an eye out for this missing dog.

🐾 Approximately 12 lbs.
🐾 Wearing a purple collar

Last seen North from 282nd St NW in the Carpio area.

Was found wandering in the area of the 200 block of Agnes St. In Berthold and is currently safe. It appears to be well cared for and may have just recently got loose from its home.
