We're excited to formally announce the 2nd Annual Downtown Entertainment Series at The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts! After a successful run of three shows in our first year, we're not able to expand to SEVEN(!!!) monthly shows, starting next week and running through April, and all 100% FREE to the public!

We're still working on finalizing dates around the Theater's schedule for the last three shows, but are able to share details on the first four at this time.

First up, on Thursday, October 22 (next week!), we'll be welcoming Kartune back to Berwick for an evening of great music. We know a lot of people were disappointed that the rainy weather put a damper on their Sunday show at Riverfest, but we're going to try to make that up to you with another show in town, only one week from today.

We decided to expand beyond only music this year, and our second show is a great example of that. On Thursday, November 19, stand-up comedian Glen Tickle will take the stage, bringing an evening of laughs to downtown Berwick. For a quick sneak preview of his comedy style, check him out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBNYCE_CQD4 -- we don't think you'll be disappointed!

On Thursday, December 17, we'll be hosting an evening of holiday jazz music. We're stilling finalizing details on the artist, but that doesn't mean it's too early to mark your calendars for an evening of a fun spin on some timeless holiday classics.

Finally (for now), join us Thursday, January 14, for another evening of laughs with the Oxymorons and their comedy improv show. If you enjoyed the comedic style of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", then this show will definitely be for you! Feel free to check them out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRNtvVK6Hhk -- again, if you like to laugh, you'll want to be there for this show.

Again, all shows are free, and are suitable for all ages. Shows start at 7:00 p.m., and will run until approximately 9:00 p.m. Keep an eye on our page for more details about each individual show as they get closer, and for announcements on dates and acts for our February, March and April shows.

None of this would be possible without the support of a number of community partners coming together to help ensure that the finances and logistics all work out. We would like to thank The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts for continuing to provide their space for the people of Berwick to come out and experience high-quality live entertainment. Additionally, we would be remiss not to thank the Berwick Arts Association, the Community Giving Foundation, and Berwick Blueprint Community for their financial support of the 2nd Annual Downtown Entertainment Series. We hope to see a packed house for each show, as we work to make some cold winter nights feel just a little bit warmer!

Mother Nature is choosing to be a little bit of a jerk for the last day of Riverfest, but we’re not going to let that ruin our parade!

While some of our craft vendors had to pack up early to protect their products, we’ll still have plenty of options open. So, if you’re not a big fan of our sunny day crowds, today is the day for you! Grab your galoshes, poncho and umbrella, and come on down for a bite to eat and some shopping, and be sure to stop in and say “hello” at the Riverfest tent, all open from 10-6 today.

See you soon!

We can almost taste it!

That's right, Riverfest 2026 is only two days away! For all the information we have available, follow Berwick Riverfest Info for plenty of updates, including a vendor list. To whet your appetite here, check out our official informational brochure, including a schedule* highlighting the weekend's key events.

Come see us at Riverfest, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, where admission, parking and entertainment are always FREE!

*Please note that our schedule lists Robb Taylor as Friday evening entertainment. Mr. Taylor needed to be a late scratch, but Berwick's own DJ Tom Rood stepped right up to fill that slot, along with his previously scheduled appearance on Sunday. Thanks for always being available, Tom!

The Borough of Berwick is proud to support Berwick Area United Way in its effort to honor the life and legacy of Dolly Parton and her commitment to childhood literacy. Please join us in recognizing Dolly Parton Appreciation Day, and for those who are able, we encourage you to consider contributing to our local United Way as they work tirelessly to keep this legacy alive.

📚 Berwick Borough recognizes Dolly Parton Appreciation Day! 🦋

We’re so grateful to the Berwick Borough Council for passing a resolution recognizing September 25 as Dolly Parton Appreciation Day in partnership with Berwick Area United Way!

This special recognition celebrates Dolly’s commitment to children, literacy, and the power of giving — values that are at the heart of our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program here in our community.

Thank you to Berwick Borough for helping us celebrate and support the importance of putting books into the hands of local children! 💙💛📖

The Borough of Berwick has been awarded $266,654 in Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide funding to assist with the purchase and upfitting of three police patrol vehicles through its “Safer Fleets, Safer Streets” initiative. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority on September 15, 2026, and is administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The project will allow the Borough to replace three aging patrol vehicles that have exceeded their planned service life and accumulated significant mileage through continuous police use. The Borough plans to purchase three Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles, or equivalent models, and equip them for full patrol operations, including emergency lighting and sirens, prisoner partitions, and in-vehicle technology and camera systems.

“Public safety is a core responsibility of the Borough, and a dependable police fleet is essential to that work,” said Councilman Jay Jarrett. “I want to thank Senator Culver and Representative Leadbeter for working with the Borough and helping secure this funding. Their support will help us put reliable, properly equipped vehicles on the road while limiting the amount that must be covered by local taxpayers.”

The Berwick Police Department serves more than 10,000 residents and responds to approximately 7,500 calls for service annually. The new vehicles are expected to improve fleet reliability, officer safety and emergency response readiness while reducing maintenance demands associated with older patrol units.

The Borough appreciates the continued support of Senator Lynda Culver and PA State Rep. Robert Leadbeter and their efforts to advance this public safety investment. Procurement and vehicle upfitting will proceed in accordance with LSA grant requirements and Borough purchasing procedures.

It’s hard to believe, but this Thursday is our last Summer Concert Series of the season 😢

However, we’ll be wrapping up the summer with one of our most popular bands, Memory Lane, and, of course, Cake & Ice Cream Night!🍰🍦😃

If anyone would like to donate a cake for the evening, we would certainly appreciate it! Cakes can be dropped off at Berwick City Hall (1800 N. Market St.) anytime Thursday until 4:30 PM, or brought to Sponsler Park by 6:00 PM.

I really dislike writing this next bit, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate and we need to move the concert indoors, cakes can be dropped off at The Berwick Theater (110 E. Front St.) by 6:00 PM instead. Keep an eye out for an updated post by Thursday morning regarding where the concert will be held.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to donate, and we hope to see everyone Thursday night from 7:00–9:00 PM for one last great night of music this summer!
