Attached is Helmet Camera footage from Asst. Fire Chief Corey Mitchell of Yesterday morning’s Multi Alarm Building Fire in Avella, Washington County Pennsylvania.

Bethany FD and Ladder 20 were requested to the scene by Mt. Pleasant Twp FD Chief 41. Ladder 20 arrived and set up in a position for a Defensive Aerial Operation on the “Alpha/Bravo” Side of the Structure.

For 5 hours Crews consistently attacked the fire to knock down flames in the fully involved building, followed by ground operations assisting with hotspots and suppression.

Aerial Operations were also performed by McDonald FD- Truck 12.

Job well done by all departments involved! Different states, different patches, but one common mission.

Today, the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department is completing annual pump testing on both Engines, Ladder, and Rescue.

While much of what we do is seen during emergency responses, there’s a great deal of work that takes place behind the scenes to ensure our apparatus and equipment are ready when needed.

Annual pump testing is one of those important responsibilities, allowing us to verify the performance and reliability of our pumping systems while ensuring our apparatus continue to meet operational and safety standards.

We are proud to announce that the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded $24,815 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant!

This generous funding will provide our department with five new SEEK AttackPRO Thermal Imaging Cameras and truck-mounted chargers, placing valuable, lifesaving technology into the hands of our firefighters.

Investments like this allow us to continue strengthening our emergency response capabilities while improving the safety of both our firefighters and the communities we proudly serve.

We extend a sincere THANK YOU to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their generosity and continued commitment to supporting first responders!
