Last Sunday, September 27th, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad provided hands-on CPR training and community education at the Bethesda Central Farm Market.

Despite the dreary weather, our team connected with roughly 150 neighbors over two hours. About 30 adults and 50 children learned and practiced CPR techniques on our manikins, while dozens more asked questions about our emergency services and volunteer opportunities.

The Bethesda Central Farm Market Central Farm Markets made a generous financial contribution to support our mission, and we truly appreciate their partnership.

We are already planning our next community outreach event for this spring (March or April). If you want to learn life-saving skills or get involved with future events, send us a message or leave a comment below.

Continuous training is at the core of emergency readiness. As part of our ongoing effort to
enhance our skills and community outreach, B-CC Rescue Squad is proud to put 10 new state- of-the-art CPR training manikins into service!!

These advanced manikins provide real-time visual and tactile feedback, helping students see and feel what effective CPR requires. A built-in feedback system confirms whether chest
compressions are being performed at the proper rate and depth—building the confidence and muscle memory needed to respond in a real emergency.

The manikins will get their first workout on Sunday, September 27 during a Pop-Up Hands-Only CPR Training at the Bethesda Central Farm Market at Bethesda Elementary School. B-CCRS and partner organizations will be on-site helping community members learn this lifesaving skill in just a few minutes. 🩷🩷

We look forward to putting this technology to work—both preparing our volunteers and
empowering our community with the skills to save a life.

On Thursday, September 17th, four members of BCCRS joined hundreds of other Bethesda area business leaders and residents for the annual Metro Bethesda Rotary Club Purple Tee Golf Classic Outing. BCCRS is honored to be a recipient of the generosity of the Rotary and its members. We have used their financial donations for equipment that we use for training, EMS and fire response and more. THANK YOU!

Shortly before noon, multiple 911 calls were received for a house on fire in the 5900blk of Sonoma Road.

RS741B and AT751 were the first arriving units and found a 3 story single family home with fire showing.

The crew from RS741B entered the structure to conduct a primary search on all levels of the structure. Once searches were completed the crew assisted with opening up for the engine companies and controlling utilities.

A741B also responded and assisted with rehab and other exterior fire ground tasks.
