Yesterday was a day we celebrated the changing of our command staff with one retirement and several promotions. After 38 years of service to our community, Chief James DePalma (Badge #902) retired from our agency. We thank him for his years of service, guidance and leadership within our community!

His retirement was followed by the promotion of Darrin Wendling ( #909) to the position of Chief of Police.

Michael Enstrom ( #918) was promoted to the position of Lieutenant.

Sgt. Keith Kulp ( #926) was transferred to the position of Detective Sergeant.

Justin Schippang ( #937) was promoted to the position of Sergeant.

Each new badge was pinned by family and a celebration was hosted at the Hanover Township Community Center. We want to wish each newly promoted officer a continued successful career in shaping our agency to be one of the finest in the Lehigh Valley!

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States. A quarter of a century has passed and many of us will still remember to the exact moment what they were doing when the news first broke of the attacks. Some of us, like myself, were in college at the time in my freshman year. The events of 9/11 have helped to push many of us into the career of law enforcement, myself included. That instinct to want to help others, just like so many did during the days, weeks, months and years since 9/11.
It feels weird to be old enough now and have new officers just starting their careers who weren't even born yet on September 11th, 2001. The only way they learn about those events are from stories, pictures and history books. We all must promise to never forget those souls who lost their lives on September 11th. We will never forget.

UPDATE: The owner saw our shared post and was able to come pick her up. We are still trying to figure out how she made it here all the way from Whitehall, but it was a happy reunion for her and her owner!

We are still trying to locate an owner for this pup. She was found on 9/5/2026 in the area of the Top Star Gas station in the 200 block of Nazareth Pike in Lower Nazareth Township.
Call us at 610-861-4820 for more information.

School is officially back in session!! We want to welcome back all our local students to our schools and we want to remind everyone on the roads to pay attention and stay alert. Every year we focus our traffic enforcement in the beginning of the school year around school zones and bus stops. Remember to always stop for any school bus actively loading or unloading students as well as keep a strict 15 M.P.H. speed limit in school zones during morning and afternoon times.
