The walk this morning went amazing. The community was a blessing spent a lot of time talking to a gentlemen resting on his porch, a family who shared there beliefs and prayers, some teens walking, and a family with a nice yard sale. I wanted to share a set of awesome items at that sale. See the photo. 715 Horseshoe.

Heavy rainfall with the potential of flash flooding is forecast across Texas. Please remain weather aware, avoid low water crossings and check the latest road conditions at DriveTexas.org

On top of all the fast coordinated work to clear up areas of Waco Creek this morning we also coordinated with Texas Materials to clear a major bump in the road of Memorial Drive that had been getting progressively worse.

We are not finished yet with this, but we wanted to show the progress. Thank you, Texas Materials https://texasmaterials.com/ for your work on this and taking a period of time for further education.

The Flood Watch for our area is in effect. Slow-moving storms may bring 2 to 5 inches of rain, and Waco Creek can rise quickly. Crews did not wait on the rain.

Here is the work already underway:

Waco ISD Administration crew on their private property, are clearing the bridge and cutting brush along Waco Creek so water can move.

Yesterday afternoon, our street crew and compliance officer opened blockages under the Columbia Street bridge over Waco Creek.

This morning, contractors are on site to finish that Columbia Street work and move it faster. We have attached images so you can visual the magnitude of the projects being completed today.

A watch means flooding is possible. A warning means take action now. Please stay off flooded streets and low-water crossings. Turn around, don’t drown.

If you live along Waco Creek or on low ground:

• Clear gutters, yard drains, and the path to the street
• Move valuables up
• Do not drive through water
• Have a place to stay with family or friends as an option
