Today, September 29th, marks two years since the serious vehicle accident involving CA-TF8 during our Hurricane Helene deployment. On that day, the members of CA-TF8 experienced an event none of us will ever forget. As we mark this anniversary, I want to acknowledge what they endured, the impact it had on our team and their families, and the extraordinary support shown throughout their recovery and in the months that followed.

On Friday, we said farewell to one of our OG members, Jim Hill. He has retired from the Task Force. To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement. Jim has been with the Task Force since its inception in 1992. Prior to that, he met Mark Foster & joined Beverly Civil Defense in 1978. What started as a task force that had to keep their cache in the Beverly High School basement, turned into what it is today, and Jim was there for all of it and made it happen.. Little known fact, Jim was behind the design of the MA-TF1 patch with the minuteman. Jim also responded to the Task forces 1st deployment - The 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. As well as deployed to 9-11 attacks with MA-TF1. A memory forever burned in his mind, as he once said.

Jim, words cannot express the sincere gratitude we have for all you have done for MA-TF1 - it will never be forgotten. Your Task Force family wishes you the best of luck in your new chapter of life in TN.
