My opponent, former Mayor and Councilman of San Antonio (2013-2025), pursued many policies during his tenure that we believe harmed our residents and city. We will be posting some of these policies here as we approach this very important election on Nov. 3 (Early voting Oct. 19 – Oct 30).

These are not personal attacks on Ron --- his policy decisions in local government for 12 years bring up legitimate questions about his ability to lead a county that is already drowning in debt because of lack of accountability, efficiency and transparency.

County officials have already declared Bexar County is on the verge of falling off a fiscal cliff in 2028. Can the former mayor handle this job when HIS RECORD shows he is not fiscally fit for leadership?

We must seek to ELECT people who understand that we have a duty to serve the common good.

In 2019, Patrick Von Dohlen stood at the same City Council podium as the former Mayor of SA, Ron Nirenberg. Ron promised "no ordinances and no mandates" will result from submitting the city to the Paris Climate Accord. Patrick warned about the real costs to working families. Here we are seven years later and San Antonio will be subject to emissions testing, which falls under the Clean Air Act, that will cost Bexar Couty drivers thousands of dollars in costs and fees.

The good news is that Patrick as a PRIVATE CITIZEN pursued relief from the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and his work is getting results. The EPA stated at the end of September that they are currently reconsidering the mandate because of the work of this campaign and numerous elected officials who joined our fight.
