SECOND SHOW TONIGHT! Tickets are available at citytheater.org or (207) 282-0849.

Reviewer Nancy Durgin writes below:

As Emily Webb, MAE KENNY is nothing short of radiant. She brings an appealing
combination of youthful beauty, intelligence, and sincerity to the role. Kenny makes Emily feel like a real young woman, rather than the iconic character from Thornton Wilder’s story. There is a naturalness to her performance that makes Emily’s hopes, dreams, and observations feel immediate and deeply personal.

A Note from Artistic Director Linda Sturdivant Happy fall! As always, this time of year we are busy! We are in tech week for Our Town. “Tech week” and “busy” are synonymous. Everyone involved is in the final push to make sure the show is ready for an audience: lights, sound, costumes, props,...

Introducing Derek Kingsley and Jamie Orenstein!

Derek Kingsley (Dr. Gibbs) Derek is back on stage at City Theater for his sixth show since 2022; clearly he likes it here! He has also performed at the Footlights Theatre, Good Theater, Lincoln County Community Theater, Lyric Music Theater, Portland Players, and Schoolhouse Arts Center. He has dialect-coached shows here and at other nearby theaters. On screen, he stars in the Maine-made indie feature-film 43 Degrees North, available to stream online. He has voice-acted in or directed episodes in several audio-drama series from Broken Arts Entertainment, including Justin Thyme and Choose the Bear.

Jamie Orenstein (Mr. Webb) Jamie is thrilled to be back at City Theater and to be in Our Town, which has been on his bucket list since he first read it in seventh grade. It’s also a true delight to work again with old friends from City Theater productions of And Then There Were None (where he played Judge Wargrave) and Murder on the Orient Express (Monsieur Bouc). Jamie also played Ken in Neil Simon’s Rumors at the Chocolate Church and is a regular performer and playwright at the Crowbait Club. Love and thanks to Karin, Blue, and Max!
