Firefighter math:

1 call + 5 firefighters + 3 trucks + 14 opinions = somehow we get it done. 😂🔥🔥

🚒😂 YOU KNOW YOU’RE IN A SMALL TOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEN…

📱 The scanner goes off and somehow everybody already knows who, where, what happened, and who was probably involved before you even get your boots on. 😂

🚒 You don't need GPS because every firefighter knows every backroad, dirt road, cow pasture, and "turn by the old barn" in the county.

🐄 Half your calls involve livestock, and nobody is surprised anymore.

☕ Someone brings food to the station and suddenly we have a full crew on scene. Funny how that works. 😂

📞 Your pager goes off and your spouse says, "Well… there goes dinner."

👋 You know the people you're responding to, their neighbors, their cousins, and probably their grandma.

❤️ And when the tones drop, everybody still shows up — because in a small town, we don't just protect our community… we ARE the community.

Big trucks. Small town. Big hearts. ❤️🚒

That's small-town firefighting. And we wouldn't trade it for anything!

🔥 FIRE FACT FRIDAY: Lithium-Ion Battery Safety 🔥

Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day—from phones and laptops to e-bikes, scooters, and power tools. But when damaged, improperly charged, or overheated, they can pose a serious fire risk.

⚠️ Keep your home and family safe:
🔋 Use the charger designed for your device.
🔋 Don’t charge batteries under pillows, on beds, or where heat can build up. (Looking at you teenagers)
🔋 Inspect batteries for swelling, damage, leaks, or unusual heat—and stop using damaged batteries.
🔋 Never use a battery or charger that has been modified or recalled.
🔋 Give charging devices plenty of space and keep them away from anything that can burn.
🔋 Follow the manufacturer’s charging and storage instructions.

🚒 If a lithium-ion battery begins smoking, hissing, swelling, or catches fire, get out and call 911. Do not put yourself at risk trying to handle the battery.

A few simple precautions can help prevent a battery fire from becoming a home fire.
