Glorious day Saturday, October 17, to seal the roof of the Tin Shack. Accompanied by Dorian Getschman (on the roof with post author), Kathy Rue and Zee (our dog). The roof was leaking many places last winter. We had a go at sealing the roof last October but it was raining too steady for the sealant to hold. Unfortunately, we found the inner door was left open which allowed varmints inside. Looks like they had quite a party for awhile. We vowed to add a note or sign for guests to please close both doors. We checked the wood bin (plenty for the winter), Kathy cleaned up the mess, Dorian and I sealed the roof, started a fire to roast brats, fixed the window screen, added a patch to the inner door where a varmint has been gnawing on the wood to get inside, and then departed about 3 pm to get to the Boulder River Road Kill in time to watch the Cat football game and eat supper (Cats victorious)đŸ˜†.

If anyone would like to help add supplies, the Tin Shack medicine kit mounted on the wall by the door is out of bandages. The kit originally had over 120 bandages in various sizes, now all are gone. Also, I left a Coleman propane-fueled lantern with twin mantels. We need a supply of mantels.

Looking forward to building a warm fire this winter with a roof free of leaks!
