🎉 Celebrating 125 Years of Service

As we continue to celebrate 125 years serving our community, we couldn't leave out one of the biggest moments: becoming the state's "first on-ramp to the information superhighway."

On December 30, 1993, the library unveiled "The Wendy's Connection," making us the most technologically advanced public library in the Northwest at the time.

- By becoming an official Internet "node," the library allowed local patrons in Billings to search catalog holdings across the U.S. and internationally.

- The upgrade was made possible through a $150,000 gift over three years from Sam and Judy McDonald of Wendy's of Montana and Wyoming.

- The system added digital magazine indexing, full-text searches, and dial-up access for people with home computers and modems.
