Broome County has been awarded $757,767 in New York State funding to strengthen efforts to identify and address high-risk domestic violence across the county.
The funding, secured through the New York State Governorโs 2025 budget and administered by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), enables Broome County agencies and community partners to collaborate using the latest evidence-based practices when responding to domestic violence incidents where there is a heightened risk of serious harm or lethality.
โHigh-risk domestic violence involves specific factors that significantly increase the chances of serious injury or death. This investment allows us to deploy innovative, life-saving interventions that prioritize victim safety while holding offenders accountable. This initiative reinforces our commitment to protecting victims and prevents future violence before it escalates. Weโre proud to collaborate with our community partners, creating a safer and more responsive system in Broome County,โ said ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ญ ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐
