💜Today was a gorgeous day at Roundtop Park in Endicott, and we are so moved by just how many people came out for the unveiling of the Crime Victims Memorial Wall. We’ve said it before: this wall was a long time coming, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day for such a bittersweet event.

Thank you to County Executive Jason Garnar, District Attorney Paul Battisti, and Kellie Amlin from the Baden-Powell Council for their words of support, and to our own Christine Battisti and of course Schyler Savage, without whom this project would not have happened!

Additional thanks to the Broome County Department of Public Works, the Parks Department, and every donor who helped make this project a reality. Thanks to a true community effort, you’ve all provided Broome County with a gorgeous space in which to honor and reflect on the lives taken by crime in our area.💜

We'll be out at Roundtop Park in Endicott today for the unveiling of the Crime Victims Memorial Wall at 11 AM, we hope you'll be able to join us to commemorate local lives lost to crime on this beautiful day!

We are so happy to announce the unveiling of the Crime Victims Memorial Wall in Roundtop Park, Endicott, on Wednesday, June 3rd beginning at 11 AM!

This has been a LONG time coming - we first broke ground on the wall nearly two years ago, after years of displaying a mobile version of the wall every Crime Victims Rights Week in the Oakdale Mall. The wall serves as a permanent remembrance of local lives lost to violence, and began as the Eagle Scout project of Schyler Savage, who was moved to action by the passing of his mother, Tess, due to domestic violence. After raising funds and soliciting support from Broome County and CVAC, Schyler's hard work is now coming to fruition, and we are so honored to have taken part in this process.

The gathering will include brief remarks, a memorial presentation, and time for reflection and connection among community members. Limited seating will be available and reserved for those needing accommodations, but all are welcome.

🔔Please note:🔔
During the process of planning this project, many loved ones and family members of those memorialized were contacted regarding the inclusion of names on the wall, however we know others may not have received word due to a variety of factors. If the loved one of an individual lost to violence would like to request a name be added to or removed from the wall, we ask that they contact CVAC's main office line at (607)723-3200 and mention the reason for their call.

✨🎊In the spirit of rounding up important May posts, we're SO thrilled to congratulate our AMAZING Director of Education & Training, Haley Roma!! Starting out as a Campus Coordinator and working her way up to Director of her department, Haley has spent the last decade displaying poise, optimism, and unwavering passionate support for not only her staff, but survivors in Broome County and beyond!!

Notably, her passion for trauma-informed care and professional education to school staff, law enforcement, and service providers has helped to equip our local community with the "tools" necessary to wrap survivors of abuse with support no matter where they are encountered. We're honored to count Haley as one of our staff members, and we know this work isn't possible without people like her!

Thank you for ten amazing years, Haley!!🎊✨

✨May has been a BUSY month for CVAC, and we're ending the month with some highlights!✨

Our Designer Bag Bingo for 2026 was SUCH a success, thanks to all our supporters and the local community! Always a popular event - this year's Bingo tables sold out super quickly - we had a great time playing and watching all the lucky winners take home their brand new bags, and at the end of the day we brought in around $17k to support our local survivors!!
