🚴‍♂️ Happy World Bicycle Day, Binghamton! 🌍🚲
Whether you are commuting to work or enjoying the trails at Otsiningo Park, safety comes first. Bicycles are a sustainable and healthy transport option, but they require shared responsibility on our roadways.
To ensure everyone gets to their destination safely, please follow these core safety rules:
🪖Protect Your Head: Always wear a properly fitted helmet to reduce the risk of head injury.
🔦Be Visible: Use front white lights and rear red reflectors/lights if riding in low-light conditions or early mornings.
🛑Follow the Rules: Cyclists must obey all traffic laws, stop signs, and traffic signals. Ride in the same direction as traffic.
📱Stay Alert: Keep phones in your pocket and avoid wearing headphones in both ears so you can hear surrounding traffic.
⬅➡Signal Your Moves: Use hand signals clearly before turning or changing lanes so drivers and pedestrians know your intentions.

Happy National Rescue Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate the brave, resilient rescue dogs who have found their forever homes! 💕
But being a great pet parent also means having a plan for the unexpected. Emergencies strike quickly, and your pets depend on you to keep them safe. Make sure you are ready to go at a moment's notice with these life-saving tips:

🎒Build a Go-Bag: Pack a 3-5 day supply of food, portable bowls, bottled water, and necessary medications.
🐕‍🦺Keep Them Secure: Ensure your dog has a secure carrier or leash, along with a collar, updated ID tags, and microchip info.
📝Make a Plan: Never leave your pets behind! Know which local shelters, hotels, or family members will accept pets during an evacuation.
📁Vital Records: Keep copies of vaccination records and photos of you with your pet in a waterproof container.

Let's honor the dogs who save us every day by keeping them safe!
