Portions of Riverside Drive between Memorial Bridge and Beethoven Street will be closed to through traffic this week for milling.
A detour will be in place on Leroy Street. Traffic delays are anticipated, and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
The closure schedule is as follows:
On Tuesday, Memorial Bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic, and Riverside Drive between Front Street and Murray Street will be closed to through traffic.
On Wednesday, Riverside Drive between Murray Street and Vermont Avenue will be closed to through traffic.
On Thursday, Riverside Drive between Vermont Avenue and Beethoven Street will be closed to through traffic.
The work and closure schedule is weather dependent.
Crews will continue work on Riverside Drive the week of June 1, and paving will follow.

Reminder: There will be no yard waste pickup in the City of Binghamton on Monday, May 25 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Yard waste pickup will resume the following Monday.

The City of Binghamton will hold a FREE paint recycling event this Saturday at the Public Works garage on Broad Street.
Residents can drop off unwanted latex and oil-based paint, stains, and deck coatings for professional recycling.
It's a convenient, drive-through event in partnership with Green Sheen Paint, which collects and recycles leftover paint, preventing it from entering landfills.

Starting April 27, 2026 — Until completion, the City of Binghamton Water Distribution Department will conduct a City Wide hydrant flushing and testing.
Days of the Week: Monday – Thursday from 7:00am – 6:30pm
Water discoloration may be evident at various times during this period and you may experience low pressure at the time. Nonetheless, the water will remain safe for use.

Reminder: The City of Binghamton is on a holiday refuse collection schedule next week, with City Hall closed Friday, April 3.
Here's what that means for residents:
-There will be NO yard waste collection on Monday, March 30.
-There will be NO refuse collection on Friday, April 3.
-Garbage collection will move up a day next week. That means if your normal collection day is Tuesday, your collection will take place Monday next week. If your normal garbage collection day is Wednesday, your collection will take place Tuesday. Normal Thursday collection will take place Wednesday. Normal Friday collection will move to Thursday next week.
