Gusty west southwesterly winds and dry conditions will bring a period of heightened fire danger for areas near and west of the Tri-State border. These conditions may make fires difficult to control, but are not expected to be widespread and long lasting.

Very proud of these five young men for all of the effort energy and time they have put into the junior firefighter program.

A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire Tri-State Area beginning Tuesday evening (September 29) and ending late Thursday afternoon (October 01). Most or all of the area is forecast to see 0.5" to 2" of rain. Locally heavier rainfall amounts (up to 4") may lead to flooding in rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying areas. Monitor the forecast for possible Flood Warnings.

We taught them about water management and the best way to stay safe during a grass fire.

The early storms have lowered chances some, but storms remain possible this afternoon and evening. This is especially true for western portions of the area which did not see the early storms. Stay alert, as storms that form may become severe.
